Tender after open myomectomy for fibroid removal

hi there! i had my open myomectomy operation in october to remove a 17cm fibroid that was sitting on my uterus. im still feeling tender and sore in my abdominal area, no pain but if i push hard it will hurt. Is this normal nearly 6 months post op? I want to start trying for a baby but am unsure if the time is rifht and im healed. my surgeon said i could start trying to concieve 3 months post op
