Trazodone paradoxical response, what should I do?

Posted , 1 user is following.

I have been on Trazodone for about 3 weeks. I'm taking 50 mg twice per day for Depression and anxiety. When i first started it, it immediately lifted my very low mood and helped me sleep. I am noticing periods of low mood again throughout the day. I have read that Trazodone can cause depression and suicidal ideation in some, but that this can be down to how the medication is titrated. Does this mean that I should wait out this period of low mood whilst taking Trazodone so that the drug can balance in my body? Or do I need to return to the my GP, to come off of it? Or is the low mood just an indication that I might require a higher dose? If I wait it out, how long for? ( I'm currently adding in some 5HTP to manage the low mood). Thanks in advance.
