Unbearable pain after work.

Hello, i'm hoping someone can help me understand whats going on with my ankle. I had a catastrophic trimaellior fracture to my left ankle 3 yrs ago. Im left with 3 plates and 15 rods and screws. My mobility was slow going and i was non weight bearing for 8 months. However, i did heal and finally started walking again, no boot, no limp. I had a lot of problems with swelling and pain for awhile but even that subsided. Until now..i went back to work as a pet groomer this year. I work 9 to 5 approx 4 days a week. I had pain that i expected to have since i am on my feet all day but the pain has been getting progressively worse over the last month. I bought new memory foam shoes, i take breaks, i spaced out my work days to have breaks and nothing is helping. Im in pain at work but nothing compares to the excruciating pain that follows after i get home and sit down for a minute. When i try to walk its just unbearable. All over the whole area, top of my foot etc. And in the morning, my first few steps literally take my breath away. Can anyone else relate or know whats causing this? Oddly there is no swelling. I dont know what to do at this point, just cry. Is this just arthritis? Thanks for reading.
