Venlafaxine

Hi there,

Wondering if anyone can help.

Unfortunately my depression and anxiety started up again 5 weeks ago. Last week so 1 week today my GP upped my venlafaxine from 150mg to 225mg as my brain fog and lack of energy and things around me were feeling very different (like no emotions, thoughts or feelings). I feel i have literally forgot how to feel like me and feel so very lost, i'm really struggling and feel scared with it! I have had bad headaches these past couple of days too. What i am asking here is, should i be feeling better by now on the increase?

Hey Kimberly, im new to ven (after being on citalopram for years which stopped working for me). From what ive read , everytime you change a dose you should expect some side effects which can last from a few days up to a couple of weeks. I ve increased on 150 mg for a couple of weeks now and still dont feel much better, but its too soon to judge. Your body is adjusting to the new dose and thats normal dont be scared. Give it time im sure you will feel better. How long have you been on ven in general?

Hi George. I was on Cit. for years. Came off successfully but 9 months later issues returned. Cit. then didn't seem to make a difference and after 6 months i've switched to Ven.

      Interested to hear your experience.

      Chris
