Very positive Allopurinol experience to date

Posted , 3 users are following.

Have been on this since Feb 2019 - worked the dose up to 300mg daily.

I sense no side effects really - maybe was a little more tired initially and maybe stools are a bit softer. But other than that nothing.

All in all its been a very positive result with no gout or importantly mental fear of gout ruining work/holidays/mobility.

Are there any known long term effects of Allopurinol as I'm currently a big fan and should have done it 2 years ago!

Your experience is exactly the same as mine - the tiredness went after a month or so (a pity as I got some of the best sleep of my adult life). As for the stool - you take more notice of yours than I do with mine perhaps? 😃

One thing I notice though - memory - allopurinol can impact memory in certain people and I am concerned it has impacted mine. Have you noticed that (I have been on it for 5 years I guess)

Havent noticed anything with memory - that goes with age anyway... I make up the brain cell gap with notes in my phone's Google calendar for EVERYTHING!
