Visible Blood in Urine

Hi All

2 years ago I had one instance of visible urine in blood, was put on antibiotics that night and it stopped. A couple of weeks later I woke up in terrible pain and went to A&E. I was discovered to have a Kidney stone stuck in my left Ureter and another one still in the left Kidney and also I had a Kidney infection from the blockage. The pain stopped and I was sent home to pass the stone. If I did pass it I never noticed, but it was gone when I had a scan the next year, but the other one was still in my left kidney and had got bigger.

Fast forward to last Monday and I had terrible urgency most of the day, but when i passed urine I could only get a little bit and burnt and stung. Later on the night I started to see blood, first in drops at the end of the stream, then really dark brown urine and then after drinking a lot of water pink urine with small clots in it. It still burnt and stung to pass. Phone NHS 24 and got antibiotics again. Couldn't pick these up till the next day, but was still experiencing bleeding the next day. First pee of the day was dark brown again, then it went back to drops at the end and then when I went to collect prescription I had to hold it in for about 40 minutes and when I got back it was the worst blood yet, really dark red/brown and oh did it hurt with the burning and stinging.

I started the antibiotics, took some painkillers and that was the end of the blood.

Now my question is this. Is it possible for a Kidney stone to cause this type of bleeding if there is no pain? The pain I had last time with the stone was indescribable, just the worst pain I have ever felt. This time there was nothing. Just the burning and stinging.

I suffer from really bad health anxiety and since there was no pain I have convinced myself it could be bladder cancer. I have an appointment on Tuesday with a specialist nurse in Urology. I assume they will want to check on the stone first and see if this is causing it, but I am driving myself mad with worry.

I am a 39 year old male. Reasonable healthy, but slightly overweight with a belly. I have never smoked, but grew up in an extremely smokey house for 28 years and would have been exposed to a lot of second hand smoke.

Thanks for Reading.
