WASHER MISSED AFTER PLATE REMOVAL

I broke my ankle when I was 37 and had plate and screws fitted.

Two years later they were removed the plate and I also had some keyhole surgery to remove a bone spur.

After the op they had an issue removing a drain from the keyhole and I ended up with a nerve protruding from the hole so they had to do another operation to tidy it up the nerves which included having 7 stitches.

I'm now 59 and recently I've been having issues with my ankle and after having some x rays they tell me it's arthritis but they have also found that they left a washer in by mistake when they removed the plates.

Do I have a case for negligence?
