for the first time in a month I went for a walk with my friend to pick my daughter up from school today..i felt ok and walked a slow pace. but on the way home I was really short of breath again and now I'm in so much pain ..All my joints are hurting so much and my chest is tight with shortness of breath. I feel so unhappy as I finally thought I was ok I only take normal painkillers.do I need stronger?

See this is prime example of what NOT to ask in here only because we are not professionals. However on a positive note, I would ask you GP and see what they say it's scary to take more than what is prescribed because it could lead to other problems...especially since your breathing is being effected. I wish you well, Emma and know that I truly know what it's like to not be able to breathe...I honestly would think that more painkillers would make the breathing harder...but then again, I'm not a professional and you really should check with whom prescribed them!!
Warm regards

Pain is your bodies way of sending you messages. Taking pain killers will only mask the real problem which is dangerous to hide from your bodies messages.
It is time to push the experts harder to get satisfactory directions and results.
This is what your body is telling you.
Have you been to a respiratory specialist?
Have you been to a respiratroy lab?
Have you been prescribed steroids?
Push the medical profession for results now.
Some times they are too lay back.
You are their customer and you want action...now!
Its not their body in pain, it is yours.
Some times in life a little hard push pays off.

As far as leaving the hospital feeling all alone, I sympathize with you there too. Just know you seem to be in good hands and sometimes the correct way to go takes a bit more time with this disease. Believe me if you can put off taking anything (drugwise) then try to as long as possible. Do you have a naturopath? I've been told by a few to find one and see what they can do to help while awaiting info from your doctors. Good luck and know you may not feel well right away, but in the future you most probably will.

You definitely do have sarcoid, right? Yes, with sarcoidosis it's definitely difficult to do some of the things you've been used to doing and having a hard time breathing. The biopsy I had I was put under anesthesia so I hard had any discomfort with the exception of healing on my neck where the biopsy was taken but that was very minimal. Just give it time and I'm sure you're doctors will have you on the way to recovery. Do you have a follow up with any doctor? A Rheumatoid doctor is of great help with any auto immune disease as they are usually related to inflammation.
Good luck!

Yes shortness of breath (sob) is common and indicates that you lungs (pulmonary system) are having a hard time of it.
Lungs may be reduced in total volume and also in their ability to transfer the volume of oxygen and carbon dioxide. A respiratory lab report should be able to reveal all of those issues.
Inflammation is also common making joints ache and general stiffness.
Hope the doctors have you sorted soon.
Remember to tell them about all of your symptoms not just the major ones.
Good luck
Phil
