Abnormal CT Scan Infection/Inflammation Possible Sarcoidosis

Hello.

40 year old female and have had no prior health issues other then winter colds each season until I had a respiratory infection in Feb. X-ray and CT scan abnormal. Had a consult with a lung specialist who determined infection or inflammation.

Had the Flu in March which resolved without complication. Except a sinus infection.

Follow up CT scan in April (radiologist said it was done too early) showed no change.  Have had sinus issues- post nasal drip off and on since Feb and am seeing an ENT.

Blood Labs for Allergies are pending.

Other blood labs and CBC came back normal (Lymphocytes are a bit low 11... norm is 20) and Immunoglbin G is 182 (normal is 170) Doctors don’t seem to be concerned with those levels & all other tests are normal.

Mostly I suffer from a dry cough randomly throughout the day and when I have days of “flare up” I have more of an urge to “clear a constricted airway” and have a quick-non-productive cough.

CT scan states....multiple slightly spiculated nodular opacities in lungs bilaterally which favor inflammatory or infectious causes. Atypical mycobacterium and hypersensitivity pneumonitis should also considered. There is a small left apical scar. There are no pleural effusions. No pneumothorax. Airways are unremarkable. There is no bronchiectasis.

LYMPH NODES: There are scattered subcentimeter mediastinal lymph nodes but no enlarged nodes. No enlarged hilar or axillary lymph nodes.

All of this waiting is causing my anxiety to spike. Any advice?!?!

Thanks

Hi Jessica, did they check your ACE levels? Through blood test?

If your ACE levels are elevated then this is a classic sign of sarcoid.

Hi. The lung specialists did not opt to do that specific test. All other tests for autoimmune disorders, sed. Rate, hypersensitivity reactive, ACNA all came back negative/normal. Only tests that fell out of range was Lymphocytes (11- low)  and Immuniglobin (182-High)

They weren’t too concerned with those levels.

I have a lung function test and sputum test scheduled later this week

    Hi

Do you or can you recall being bitten by flees or any parasites.

      Hi

My cough was cured by hdroxchlorequinn 500mg 2 tans a day. That is a anti malaria drug but I did have a history of flee bites as I renovate property.  Auto immune is part of sarcadodis. You know your body better than any doctor, see which foods aggravate and which help and get plenty of excercise walking is best.

      Wishing all the best.
