    Hi Lyn

    I'm sorry youn are in such pain.

    I have OA in my ankle, lower back, hips and neckrolleyes

    I'm 68

    I've also got kypho scoliosis {C shape curve in my spine and a slight hump at the top of my back}

    Resting all day isnt ideal unless it is a flare up but a bit of exercise is better but you have to pace yourself, a bit of moving and a rest and a bit of moving a rest.

    Not everything all at once or not moving all day......Has to be a happy mediumconfused

    When I say exercise I mean moving.....not going to the gym

    Have you got a physiotherapist? or can you get a referral to one who can advise you about movements.

    What about your consultant at the hospital? If you've been diagnosed with OA you must have one even if we dont see themwink  they are there....try and get a referral back to him and see what comes of that

      I have had physio, I don't have a lot of bone left at bottom of spine, I do exercise, and walk every day but it gets you down when you are worried about going anywhere, I even feel quite sick sometimes I have pain all down left buttock it affects the left side more than the right. I did see a consultant who just wanted me to take disclose nice but it was not doing anything for me even trams doll don't work...

      Hi Lyn

      Tramadol......they space me outeek No way could I take those.

      My problem at the minute is after my 2nd THR {four weeks post op} doing an NHS exercise there was a crack and my operated leg gave way. At the hospital after an X Ray they said you have fractured your greater trochanter bone, nothing we can do it will heal but take a long timeeek

      I've now been told that it will not heal beacause a bit of bone broke of the joint when it fractured and has moved so far up that no way will the fracture heal. So I'm on crutches the rest of my life.....this was 10 months ago.....What my consultant is trying to do now is work on the pain and relieve it.  Still have pain in my back {scoliosis and spinal stenosis and OA in lower spine} but this fracture was very sore.

      Think we are getting there........temporarily.

      What a lifewink but you just have to try and keep going doint you

      Love
