Can any body help me?

I'm 20 years old and I was diagnosed with IIH when I was 16. I've been off treatment for a year and a half and my optic nerve swelling had gone. On wednesday afternoon I started having a severe headache exactly the same as the ones I used to get. I'm still in pain now. I ended up in hospital and was told that they think it is just a migraine. But I'm certain it's not and I am not being taken seriously. I've moved to university away from home with new doctors that don't seem to understand that I know my body and my condition and I'm certain something is wrong. Can anyone advise me? Thank you

    Lauren,

May I suggest you provide this silly Doctor with some factual information.

    a) previous medical paperwork when you were in treatment - mum/dad could scan this over to you perhaps?

    b) telephone your previous opticians and ask them to send over historical notes.

    c) ring your previous Doctor and ask him to ensure your notes are on line for the new Doc to read through. All these systems should now link.

I hate that these "professionals" dismiss your concerns. Hope this helps.

Think you need to ask for an emergency eye test at the hospital as this is a very serious condition. I know your mums not with you now as so they have possibly tried to brush you off but you need to be firm. Also you need referring to a neurologist.
