Hi,
I have a swollen and painful ankle. I was told to take ibuprofen with codeine. Can I also take paracetamol with codeine too?
Thanks

Hi philip. I also had a painful swollen ankle about 2 months ago. I was told to take paracetamol and ibuprofen. The paracetamol tablets i already had at home were co dydramol which consist of 500mg paracetamol and 10 mg dihydrocodeine. I took those along with ibuprofen. If you're unsure about the codeine ring your local pharmacist and ask them. Make sure you read the dosage instructions. To be honest i was still in a lot of pain even whilst taking them. It made me wonder if it was worth it. I hope they work better for you. I felt really tired all the time i was taking them too. I hope your ankle gets better soon. My doctor told me to point my toes and draw letters of the alphabet to exercise it. Had an x ray nothing showed up. It just took a fèw weeks (painful weeks) to get better on its own. Best wishes.

Hi,
I think Codeine comes with Paracetamol, Co-codamol. You shouldn't exceed the Paracetamol limit, so if Codeine comes with Paracetamol, then don't take Paracetamol.
Hope this helps,
