Cellcept for IPF

Has a doctor prescribed cellcept for any one?If so what is the result. I have IPF but not take any medicine for it. Doctor suggested cellcept yesterday. Thanks for your reply. Cooper

    I had never heard of Cellcept and when I looked it up on the internet it appears it is used to prevent rejection in patients who have had an organ transplant.  You say you have IPF but don't mention you have had a lung transplant.  Are you sure you have the right medication?

    The two drugs used to slow down the progression of IPF. are Pirfenidone (known as Esbriet) and Nintedanib (known as Ofev).  I strongly suggest you re-check with your doctor and questio him closely if he still suggests

    Cellcept.
