I work construction and after my relapse have had difficulty being able to work. My doctor suggested I file for disability. Has anybody else had these issues?

Yes Iam on Disability. My 6 Doctors suggested it to me when I first was diagnosed with Wegners. That was in April 2015 and within 3 months I started recieving my SSI . I was very sick as time goes by Iam feeling a little bit better . I went into remission in March 2017 but still taking 18 pills a day and receiving Chemo every 6 months ( for the rest of my life ). Kidney's are shot, need to have a total hip replacement ( soon ) . Yes if I were you I would apply for it ...... Social security help my Doctors and myself through the process . Good Luck 🍀

I have wegeners for 4 years had a constructin company for 43 years. couldn't do work anymore.i have filed 4 times for disability but didn't pay enough in . get a lawyer wont cost you anything.with wegeners it will get a lot worst.you will be bed riden at times. I have open heart surgery and 5 stints and calpes lung. if you paid in you will get disability. have your doctor write a letter stating your condition. this is a horrible diieses .I take a lot of gavepenten and 60 mil. of pregnazon. and 18 other pills a day.the pregnazon just gave me diabeties.pray pray some more

I applied for and was approved for disability about 4 years ago. While it doesn't pay much, it is a very important supplement to my income as I have been totally bed ridden by this disease at times. I work part time now, but the disability is an essential part of my living.

I also work construction and was given the same advice. The medical i was given was about everyday life, ie can you dress yourself, can you do your own shopping. At no time was i asked how I feel an hour or so into a hard day's work. Explain very carefully how you feel most of the time not just on a good day.
