Dizzy attacks and fuzzy head

I was on lansoprazole  but had sore stomach with medication and was switched to omeprazole 3 months ago. When on holiday last week I nearly passed out 5 times on the 1 day had to pull over on the motorway as I had a dizzy spell while driving with my wife and my boys in the car. Stopped taking pill 4 days ago and have been taking gaviscon to control acidity, feeling better already and going back to doctor soon to discuss other options. Can anyone recommend other medication. So good to hear from you all about the affects of this medication . Thanks

Sorry to hear about your orrid experience. I was on it for 3 months and it was the worst 3 months of my life. I had Anxiety, dizzy nervous faint. throughout that period...

I dont take anything anymore, but have changed my diet. ..and it is working. If I do have the odd indigestion these days one dose of Gaviscon sorts ot out.

I find eating apples and fresh Romaine lettice, helps along with plenty of water. Elimiating coffee, wine, chocolate (all bad offenders for me  ,i have discovered ) helps a lot!

Ps I felt the improvement within 3 days of stopping the medication, and slowly recovered from all of that horrible stuff. All the best.

I had bad side effects (acute agitation was the worse) and stopped the Omeprazole after 10 days, and went back to the doctor.  I told him, but did not go into details.  Just said I had side effects and did not want to take it any more.  He did not seem surprised.

He prescribed some different pills for my problem, and I went home and three away the Omeprazole.  As we all have different symptoms, difficult to recommend anything else to you.  I suggest you do what I did.  I had to ask for an emergency appointment, and I find these other pills are relieving my symptoms.  You cannot continue on medication that makes you so ill.
