Does anyone have any feedback/results from taking testosterone gel?

Hi there, I'm 29 and have recently been diagnosed as having Klinefelter's syndrome. I've been prescribed the Testogel testosterone therapy, which I've been using for about two weeks now. Has anyone used it for months or years and if so, has anything changed for you (physically or mentally)?

      Hi Samuel,

I take it you mean the injections? I was offered injections, but I'm not fond of long needles, so opted to go with the gel. Do you mind telling me what the changes have been? Thanks for the heads up about the rash, I'll keep an eye out for that.

No worries, I appreciate you replying at all. I'm glad you got used to it - I don't think I could.

Did you have any bad side effects when you started taking it?

So far I've had headaches and at first, a few days of great happiness for no apparent reason followed by a feeling depression/suicidal thoughts. Thankfully I've just come out of that, so hopefully it goes all right from here.

I'm glad you've had all those changes, and thanks.

Hello Sockpim , I don't know shall I congratulate you or commiserate with you? Is it a good or bad thing you're diagnosed?

I have not used Testogel but I do use Androderm and have used it for about 18 months. I was diagnosed 40 odd years ago and most of my therapy has been by injection.

Androderm is a patch, so there's no possibility of passing the hormone on to someone else, unless they lick the patches I remove. I understand Testogel is applied daily to your skin, is that right?

      Hi XXYGuy,

Hah hah, I'd say it's good and bad. It's bad because it's taken so long for a diagnosis; I only found out through tests from issues with having children with my wife. It's good because I think it's much better to have a reason why your infertile than for the doctors to just shrug their shoulders and say they don't know why. I think it's also good because Klinefelter's syndrome explains so many symptoms I've had during my childhood/adolescence and I wonder if taking the supplements may help with some other long term issues I have.

I've not heard of having a patch. I was offered the injections or the gel. Does it work well? It is. Since sammymusic mentioned the potential to get a rash, I regularly use a scrub on my shoulders in the evening (I apply the gel in the mornings) and apply it in one area of my upper arms/shoulders one day and the other part the next.

I do not think testosterone gel is any more effective than painkiller cream. Its good to try injections or tablets. We can assume that they will be more effective in treatment.

I can confirm that I've had a lot of side effects since starting to take the gel, but I've had a lot of physical improvements/changes from using it 😃

I was on testosterone injections for years, so my levels were up and down. I was getting them every 3 weeks. If I skipped an injection, my levels would drop to thirty four. I have never had any physical or emotional problems. I was on the injections for thirty eight years. I am now sixty nine years old

I started on the gel last year, so now my levels are over four hundred. No physical or emotional problems. I am a laid back kind of person. I am also an introvert which may explain why I haven't any issues such as anger issues. My gel costs only fifteen dollars in US currency. for the gel pump at one point six two percent. Previously, I was on the gel packet at one percent, my levels only went up to three hundred, so.my doctor increased it by switching me to the pump

Also, I live in the United States. plus I haven't been on this forum for at least three to four years, so now I am back.

My question to you is are you having problems
