Everything hurts.

Hi everyone. I'm 23 years old and I serioiusly think something I wrong. Over the last couple of years my back has moved higher and higher up my spine. Xrays have been taken with no luck at all. Over the last couple of weeks I have begun to have pain in other areas, right shoulder, both wrists and both hips, both knees. Side note both knees literally crunch when using the stairs and the left one hurts so bad I can't completely straighten my leg. I'm tired of going to the doctor and being sent away with a clean bill of health. I am in no way enjoying this, this pain is keeping me up all night and seriously impeding on my day. Even if I'm just a 23yr old with Arthritis I just want some answers.

    Hi jessica30187

You need to be checked for Ankolysing Spondylitis.....which causes all the symptoms you describe..and you CAN have this at a young age....you need to have a test to see if the carry the AS gene HLA-B27.....although not all AS sufferers carry the gene...also ask to have an Inflammation test...ESR Erythrocite Sedimentation Rate blood test and CRP C-Reactive Protein blood test and ANA AntiNuclear Antibody blood test..inflammation in your body will cause pain as you describe also...although inflammation is usually shown in the elderly but in some young people also.....get your doc to check AS and Inflammation......best wishes..

      Hi jessica30187

You can go to a regular doctor for the blood tests...but if any one of the blood tests prove positive you will be refered to a specialist......best wishes....
