I was diagnosed with sarcoidosis in 1998, since then my health has been a roller coaster of syptoms and major discomfort. Uveitis, Pulmonary and Heart complications, skin lesions, joint pain and swelling,Naso sarcoidosis, Headaches, Facial Paralysis, and Major hair loss. Trying to hold down a job is vertually impossible, as the bad days out way the good ones. Is there aybody out there, who knows if Sarcoidosis patients are eligible for any kind of incapacity financial help, to cover the cost of prescriptions, loss of earnings etc.....

it would be helpful to tell us where you live. Different countries have different laws. For example, in my country, the people who are no longer able to work must get recommendation from their doctors to apply for compensation and pension benefits. Every disease is included in a type (category) of illness; based on the type of illness, the person is entitled or not to receive benefits. For instance, sarcoidosis destroyed both of my lungs, and now I have an invalidity pension relating to my lung problems.
Additionally, you could ask your doctor and/or health insurer. they may be able to tell you if you are entitled to receive any financial help. You could also google the topic. Look for "invalidity pension", "disability pension", "benefits for people living with illness" in your country. You may find forums and even gov/org websites debating problems regarding the financial help you may be able to get.
All the best,
Magda

i suffer from pulmonary sarcoidosis and Fibromyalgia, like you the bad days outnumber the good ones. I get support rate ESA and DLA but worked till I absolutely had nothing left, it sounds like you too have reached that point. First of all do not leave your job if you are in employment, they need to get an occupational health report to finish you and that will help you with benifits. Contact the DWP by phone or net to find out what benefits you can get. If you want to talk then let me know and I will message you with my number. I am very weak and unwell with gastric problems but I'm happy to help you in any way I can.
Be strong
