It may just be co-incidental. I'd carry on taking it for a few more days before blaming the drug and keep to a bland diet that you know won't cause you grief. If after a few more days you still have bad diarrhea, perhaps return to your GP and tell him/her for advice.

Hope your stomach soon settles down and the Omeprazole help with reflux.

I would not think that Omeprazole is the cause of your diarrhea.

I have been taking it for several years and never had these symptons.

I also have diverticulitis which requires a high fibre diet as the doctor advises that I avoid constipation at all costs.

To assist, he has prescribed a daily dose of a fibre supplement "Fibogel"

Even the combined efforts of the Fibogel, the Omeprazole and my prunes and allbran for breakfast have not given me diarrhea.

I started omeprazole 31 days ago.  The Dr. Told me the side effects were diarrhea and headache.  I had diarrhea one day and constipation another.  I can't predict what my body will do and I watch my diet.  Everyone is different in response and maybe it's a matter of our body adjusting.  As for myself , i don't like it!  I'm nauseated at times and afraid of side effects.  Cheers mary
