    Hi Richard

I have found that capsuals rather than tablets are by far the best version of Lansoprazole. I am on tablets at the moment and am burping which for me is an indication that the stuff is n't strong enough, but I don't have the pain. When I miss a day, it take about 45 minutes for the pain to go down after it starts - and it always does. So, you have about half an hour to go - if you took your pill before posting...

It does not matter really what time in the day I take it, as long as I have some before mid day I am OK. If I get a paing at night, it's the 45 minute wait thing - no escaping it. I have not found out how long the pain lasts if I don't take the drug - and I don't want to either.

    Good luck !

    Hi Richard

I used to be on Lansoprazole myself and found no matter what amount I took, it gave me a sore dead like feeling in my stomach, I thought this to be the fact that I was killing off all the acid and the stomach requires a certain amount. You might find relief from a probiotic putting some good bacteria back into your stomach. Probably better to visit doc anyway just to make sure and get piece of mind. PPI's are not good, I came off them completely after 2 years of taking them, they have too many side effects. I'm coping alright, although I still do get some heartburn/indigestion and still have my Gastritis, If I get too bad I just eat more Alkaline foods, that seems to help.
