    Hello,

Yes exactly the same, my periods aren't too heavy but are SO painful. The mefenamic is as good as useless. A friend said keep taking it, it takes a couple of months to kick in but i'm still waiting!

I've also tried a couple of pills but I've yet to find one that works. Grinning and baring it is the only remedy I got right now.

Good luck with the mefenamic acid!

 please be aware i was on mefenamic acid for a year for heavy and painful period pains. i was not warned about taking these tablets if planning to concieve and i had 3 misscarriges in 14 months. i was told at a scan by the sonogropher that these tablets can make you lose your baby . i have stopped taking these tablets and now have to see what the future holds x

I have also been prescribed this for ovulation pain. I took just one tablet when the pain kicked in and was distracting me, and that kept me going - as the pain lasts for 24 to 36 hours.

I also use them during my period, first couple of days. It really does help as I used to suffer through my first few days of my period grinding my teeth and rubbing my lower back. And a heat pack under my top.

Now I can get through the day much more pleasantly. It's a GREAT drug!
