I was prescribed mefenamic acid for very heavy periods, I have only been on them for a week and suffered really bad bouts of stomach bloating, excessisve wind and constipation.

    Me too!

    I thought I was just getting really fat, until my husband pointed out that it's only for about a week each month, during and after I take Ponstan Forte that I feel like this...I swell up like a balloon is inside my belly and get rather gassy especially after eating wheat or dairy (pretty much all the time- then!)

    However, the advantages of not bleeding so much means that I can carry on my normal life and work!

    How much were you taking though? and for how long. I only took 3 a day for a week and I'm ok... i mean I bloat anyway around period but it lightens my bleeds too.

    i have taken this tablet and the bloating is extreme.i weigh more aswell.there is always a price to pay and it is better than heavy bleeding that leads to exhaustion. :roll:
