Is chocking on food part of OPF?

Occasionally I will be eating or drinking something and will suddenly, out of the blue, get chocked. I start to cough and suddenly can not breath.

    Hi Thelma:

This is a new one on me. I have never read of anyone else having this kind of experience. Some folks experience nausea or mild cramping but not chomping.

There is an unrelated condition that effects the esophagus and renders eating sometimes difficult, but it is not related to IPF. Check with your doctor or if you are on an IPF medication, you might check with the manufacturer.

    Good luck.
