Hello,

I've been tested positive for covid at the start of November last year. Didn't have bad symptoms aside from a a little bit of coughing and elevated temperature. My sense of smell was normal but i loss a sense of taste. It came back it early January this year (also got my vaccine shots in January). Weird thing is it disappeared again at the end of March. Taste returned around middle of May and now it is starting to disappear again. I've read that it takes months to get it back after you lose it initially but can't find any info about my situation - that it appears for months or 2 and disappears for similar amount of time. Anyone had similar symptoms ?

I have not been in that situation however I do know that taste and smell can come and go after having Covid.

It’s like the body is trying to bring it back permanently but can’t do that yet. It may take a while for it to come back and stay so I know it’s difficult but try to be patient. The scientist and doctors still don’t know everything about Covid.

Hey - I think I've had a similar thing. I had COVID-19 in early March and my symptoms were headache, duller sense of smell and lethargy. I've been basically fine since and smell came back fully but around a month ago my sense of smell was duller again (did a test and was negative) I've heard similar things about smell/taste waxing and waning. so odd!
