Is It True The Worse Your Covid is the more Antibodies your body makes.

It seems reasonable to assume the more Covid Cells in your body ,the more antibodies your body will create to fight those cells. I'm not sure if that's true but who knows and it also depends on a persons immune system and how well it works.

Hi, just thought I'd chime in when I saw your question! I've been to a post covid clinic and had the antibody test completed. They shared with me that these tests are not qualitative and therefor are unable to really assume much from the results. There is no established baseline of covid antibody ranges to indicate predictive value of the numbers. They are unsure if high numbers indicate better immunity or not. They've seen patients with extremely high numbers after mild illness and patients who showed very few antibodies after severe illness and vice-versa. They've seen those with antibodies get re-infected. They are still learning about the "back up" memory cells that are of importance in immunity as well, and these tests do not measure this aspect of the immune system. They said all they can assume from this measurement is if covid was present in the patient or not. No other assumptions of immunity can be made at this time since there have not been any studies yet to find meaning in the numbers. Hope this helps and I sure wish we had better predictive value and insight into testing!
