Hello I was diagnosed a few weeks ago, as taken into hospial in emergency as blood pressure 218/120 doc did ecg and found I had had 2 silent heart attacks she was worried I was about to have a massive one! After many blood tests and tests for my heartDoc came and said oh well your blood is very thick so we are going to take some away and hope it will improve how u feel.I wasnt really that with it and just said ok,came home after 10days and decided to see what polycythemia was all about, so it was a bit of a shock.Went to see my own gp who apologised that she hadnt picked it up as she had trained with the specialist I am going to see re blood.I am very angry as previous gp in same practice had said 2yrs ago you have thick blood so need to take some off, then I never heard another word,so have had for some time.I also have fybromyalgia so some symptoms are similar.I have been so ill the last 6 mths gradually getting worse, these are some of my symptoms: headaches, itchy, red bruising like round blobs come up arms legs etc, dreadful pain over body especially legs hips back, dreadful lethargy where if i bend over its agony to get back up, and at presant can hardly walk from one room to the other, which means I cant take my dear 4 Bichon Frise out, my friend and husband do it and I miss it so much.My life is at a standstill at the moment and I pray once I have seen the specialist he can get me back on track a bit.Look forward to replys.
