Multiple disparate symptoms

I have been experiencing multiple seemingly unrelated symptoms with no resolution. I had one very thorough GP who looked in every hole for three years and sent me to several specialists. I never did get a diagnosis and once the specialists couldn't crack the nut on the first try, they either gave up or gave me some bogus diagnosis. I also had competing diagnosis from different specialists, and I was also told once that I wasn't sick enough to be further investigated.

This started about 5+ years ago with a distended abdomen and trouble breathing, especially after eating. The abdomen is more distended than ever, and the breathing continues to worsen. I've had GI issues, diarrhea for several years. I've also had Kiney issues for a very long time. They initially put the Kidney issues down to NSAID use due to my Ankylosing Spondylitis. The latest story is that it's due to prostate issues because I retain urine and have an enlarged bladder. The Nephrologists and Urologists are currently battling over whose problem it is. LOL. I used to be able to manage the diarrhea issues with the use of Imodium, but it is no longer effective, unless I take gaps between doses.

I was reading the side effects for pantoprazole the other day and it says trouble breathing, abdominal distention, trouble breathing, urinary retention, malabsorption of nutrients, etc. I also have low ferritin and must take iron for life. I had severe diarrhea on the weekend, and it was extremely smelly poop. This is what got me thinking about malabsorption and the cause(s) of my diarrhea.

I'm currently taking 40mg of pantoprazole twice daily or I get acid in my esophagus when I sleep. I decided to try cutting down to one 40mg pantoprazole daily to see if that would improve my diarrhea. I also started taking some Calcium to see if this would help with the diarrhea and help with my excess acid. I was in bed last night and my breathing was deeper than it has been in quite some time. My GERD was worse of course and my diarrhea has not let up so far, but it has only been two days. The question is whether the improvement in my breathing was temporary or if it was caused by the reduced pantoprazole or the increased Calcium intake. I must discuss this with my doctor, but for now I'll continue the experiment. I've been on a PPI since the year 2000 BTW.

I've read that Dexilant has fewer GI side effects, which I doubt since it works in the same way as Pantoprazole. I understood that the GI effects of PPIs are not caused by the specific medication, but by the method of action. Dexilant is also crazy expensive.

Any feedback appreciated. I do need to lose some weight, but this is difficult when you can't breathe.
