My experiences of stopping taking Lansoprazole

Hi,

Like everybody on here I take Lansoprazole for stomach problems.

There are lots of experiences on here of the side effects people get when taking them but;

What effects do people get when stopping taking it?

I think it would be very interesting to find out as I cannot find anything on the internet listing any effects the people have when stopping it and how long they last?

If you have any experience positive and negative could you reply here!

It may be useful to everyone.

    Glad I found this. Been taking Lanso. for 4 months, starting on 30mgs and now on 15mgs. I stopped this week, 5days in, as although it was like a miracle in stopping my acid indig. that I had been suffering with for around 5yrs and it was getting intolerable! I found I was desperate to pee all the time, having to get up in the night, that I'd not done before, and really inconvenient for my work. I was getting worried that this could get worse and was damaging my urine track. Also seem to have loose bowls too. My daughter had sent me a video with the women saying it was not good to suppress your acid and to take Magnesium 3 times per day, so I thought I'd give it a try this week. Over the week my acid idig. has gradually got worse, but not as chronic as before, so back on the Rennee. Now reading this forum I think I will stay off the Lanso. I have avoided tomatoes, which I loved, I have lactose free milk with my tea which has definitely helped, and soya milk in my morning porage and sourdough bread.
