Nausea and Prilosec

Good Afternoon all,

So I finished my two week course of Prilosec OTC yesterday and one thing I noticed the last few days of my course was that I was nauseated in the mornings. The nausea would go away for the most part by the midmorning but then today it came back in the afternoon. Nothing severe but still very unpleasant. Has anyone else experienced nausea?

The funny thing is that my heartburn and hunger pangs went away so technically it worked but still I feel like I traded one symptom (heartburn) for another (nausea).

The past 4 months I thought I had gastritis, but doctor did a endoscope and said it looked normal. I have had bad burning feeling and nausea. Doctors just want to feed me ppi's and gave me no diagnosis. The only thing that I have found helps is peppermint tea. You can find it at your local walmart. You might try it as it really helps. I drink about 10 cups a day. Also you might want to try a few drops of organic peppermint oil if you need somthing more powerful. It really does away with nausea

Hmm interesting. The medicine worked for me. No more heartburn and hunger pangs but nausea took its place. I can't stand having nausea or any other stomach ailment. I stopped my PPI and will try your suggestions.

I know it's been awhile, but if you still see this - could you please let me know if your nausea went away and how long it took? I had sour stomach as one of my symptoms when I saw my doctor 2 weeks ago so she threw me on Omeprazole for two week. Everything was going good for a bit but Monday/Tuesday I had HORRID anxiety and then started having acid reflux all throughout the night with nausea in the morning. My last pill I took was Wednesday morning and I think I'm slowly getting better (wishful thinking).
