Newest Dr is going to do the Branch Block on me in 2 weeks. Meanwhile perscribed me Lyrica. Omg from what iv read i dont think its going tp take away my pain! I went in hoping for stronger meds and this is what i got.

Anyone take Lyrica? Im piking it up today. Please comment!

I took Lyrica before for neck pain. It did nothing for my neck but had some other effects I didn't like...the real kicker came when I tried getting off of them after only 4 weeks. Oh my gosh...the worst withdrawal I have ever had. I came off Valium no problem but that stuff there is awful...can't sleep, can't eat, hot, feeling outside yourself, diarrhea....it was so bad that as a nurse I couldn't believe that wasn't a controlled substance...my Dr told me that if that medicine hadn't given back the lives of so many with fibromyalgia, it would be banned. Not trying to discourage you because everyone is different but beware. I, myself, will never swallow another one of those for any reason..period.

Don't know about lyrica (pregablin), but Gabapentin works really well for my nerve pain. (Currently taking 600mg 3x a day x

Hi Kimmi0427, I did take Lyrica and had an awful experience with it. Of course that doesn't mean that others will respond the way that I did. I got very sick with a terrible headache, nausea, stomach pains, ran a fever of 101. I ended up in the hospital for three days.I had a very bad bladder infection after I was in hospital for 24 hrs. It was like a bad virus or flu. A rare side effect though it sometimes does happen. I was told I was allergic to it. I had 3 docs on my case and all said my illness was from the Lyrica. Gabapentin is a very good medication for nerve pain. It works well for many.

    God bless you

Hi kimmi, I have been taking lyrica (pregabalin)for going on fie years now and hav never had a problem with them. I am on 300 mg twice a day. I wouldn't be without them.  If I don't take them for any reason I know about it. My legs are jumping and twitchy in bed at night. It's not very often I forget to take it at night.  On other medication as well. Give them ago.

      Hey 74Cathy,

What kind of pain do u take it for? Iv not started mine yet due to it having to be pre authorised at the pharmacy, but he only perscribed me 50 mg and cant remember how often. Do you think 50mg is such a small dose it wont toych my pain? (Neck). I do hate the fact that u say u get w/d symptoms the 1st day you miss a dose. That sucks! Meaning theres a w/d when getting off them.

Hi kimmi, yes it's mainly for leg pain.i wouldn't think 50 mg would do anything for the pain.

It wasn't me that said you would get withdrawal symptoms if missing a dose. I have never had any problems whatsoever taking mine.

check it out it was crystal. X

    Hi Kimmi0427,

I've been on Lyrica (Pregabalin) for a few years. What strength are you on & how often are you taking them. They initially make you very sleepy, but that wears off. I'm on 150mgs twice a day, & I decided to stop taking them to see what they actually did. Well firstly, they are addictive, so I had withdrawals, & secondly, the nerve pains in my legs came back. They are very good in getting rid of nerve pain.

    Hope me this helps.
