Omeprazole

I am taking Omeprazole 20 mgs. I have been on them before but this time I have pains in my head (not bad, just like pins and needles) and am wondering if this might be one of the side effects.
Something else that puzzles me and the Doctors don't seem to give me a satisfactory answer. I have had Oesophagitis diagnosed but I never experience either heartburn or acid reflux that is supposed to accompany this diagnosis.
Anybody ideas or similar things happening to them I would appreciate hearing from you.

I was diagnosed with reflux oesophagitus over a year ago after experiencing severe pains (felt like being strangled and giving birth at the same time!). I argued with all the doctors saying that I don't get acid indigestion (burps, acid in the mouth or burns after certain foods). 2 endoscopies confirmed a highly inflamed oesophagus, caused by they say, acid. But if I don't feel it - how can I cure it???
Anyway, a year of food diaries, ppi's and gaviscon I have managed to get on top of the condition. I guess some of us get what they call \"silent\" reflux. it happens, we just don't feel it until the damage is done.
What do you think? Are you the same?

Omperazole has slightly improved that.
But I developed cronic diarrhea and have been taking imodium for nearly 12 months and am not reliably continent any more unless I stop the omeprazole (when the cough returns).
I think my GP is fed up with me as he prescribed a laxitive last month which completly floored me and kept me off work for 2 days. Now he suggests a colonoscopy.
I don't like omeprazole and want to try an alternative cough remedy as I can't see how a heartburn remedy for someone who hasn't got heartburn is going to cure a cough!

What? Your doctor sounds insane? did he prescribe a laxative when you already had diahroeah? Have you tried manuka honey? It helped with the irritation in the oesophagus for me.
