Omeprazole dosage

I have been on 20mg daily for a few years now but recently my IBS has got worse...coughing in bed from reflux, discomfort al the time, bad diarrhea. and my doctor I saw this morning said I could take 2 a day.  I never thought to ask at the time but 

does anyone take 2 x 20mg a day? And if so, do you take them together or at different times?  I thought you only took that dose if it was serious like an ulcer or something?

    There is a 40mg tablet/capsule and some people take two of them. As you have been prescribed 2 X 20mg he must want you to take one twice a day.

    I take 2 , 20 mg a day but I prefer to take them together first thing every morning, I find it works better for me than taking them at separate times

    Have you noticed any side effects from the drug? How old are you If I may ask and how long have you been on the drug directly?

    I take 1 20mg tab in the morning and 1 20mg tab at night. Only been on them 2 days but my mouth is really dry.
