pain around my hip bone

Hi , I have developed a pain around my hip bone where you might put your hands on your hips while standing . It's fine while sitting but when I get up it really hurts ansI limp on it . A year and a half ago I had bilateral hip replacement , it doen't feel like it's to do with my hip joint , when I press it it feels like it's bruised . I have a doctors apointment soon but thought I'd pop on here meantime . I also had quite bad sciatica and am going to see a surgeon about that soon but painkillers have all but got rid of that pain . It all gets me down because I thought after having my new hips I'd be pain free but not so , anyone else got the same ?

    Yup I'm newly diagnosed with PMR but before that i was told I had bursitis in my hip. After being diagnosed with PMR I figured the diagnosis was wrong since it never got better. I assume it is from the PMR. But I also have chronic pain from a bad back on that side too. So of course it could be this too.

      Thanks for your reply , I have just googled PMR and it could well be this , I'll mention it to my doctor. I only get pain on my hip maybe a bit of stiffness in my neck , thanks again and I'l post again after my appointment
