Pressure pain under left ribcage

I have been getting tight knot feeling under my left ribcage & now radiating into my back left ribcage. I suffer with constipation. Thought it was tummy acid problem but now saying it is radicular pain. Anyone else had same sort of pain? Now waiting on. Xray

Hi Louise; I don't know a lot re Radicular Pain, but what I do know is it refers to ? a herniated disc in the lumbar/sacral region of our spine....have you had this confirmed by ultra-sound or x-ray?   If so, then the 1st line of treatment would be physio to try and re-alighn the disc, and strengthen the muscles supporting the muscles around the disc....does this sound correct to what you have been told?     Bron

Thanks for your reply. I'm having just a normal xray of the back. I've been given amtriptlimine to take for the pain but I'm worried about taking them as I'm already on an antidepressant and I don't want to feel too tired as I have to work

Yes Louise, that can be a real issue (the tiredness)....how are you coping even trying to work with the pain, now?   Are you able to take some sick leave (if you are able to get a Medical Cert, you should be able to take some time to sort this out....if you are on a Pemanent Employment basis...even if not, and can afford to take a couple of weeks leave, financially, it may be the best thing for your health)....does your GP know that you are already on an anti-depressant....perhaps try taking the Amitriptyline only...and wean off the other, if you feel you need strong pain relief....Gabapenten (Neurontin), is good for nerve pain, especially those coming from the spine, and not as tiring....I know I have Brain Fog today, so hope this rambling is not too much to take in?   Bron....rolleyes
