Ribs

About 4 years ago I started getting random pains in my right hand ribs in the front and back now the pain is also in my left ribs in the sides and bottom and under breast area.

The pains aren't sharp there dull and Achey

I also started getting random dull aches on the left and right side of my belly button also below my sternum to the left and right I get a dull ache as well. It isn't pain full but the dull ache is always there in my ribs and comes and goes every other day in my abdomen. All blood test were clear. Anyone else having these issues.

    I am 42 and just before my March period I suddenly began to get dull, grinding, stabbing and sore to touch pain from the left side of my stomach right across my middle to my left side.  Sometimes it goes the opposite way.  It is like a belt like pain and feels like having a constant period without the mess.  The type of pain I get varies through the the day but it is never severe.  Pain killers lull the pain but don't get rid of it. Intitially, it woke me up  at night and I was pain killer reliant.  Now this does not happen.

    The doctor thought it was urinary tract but I tested negative and antibiotics did nothing but upset my stomach.  IBS medication also didn't work and gave me side effects.  I had an ultrasound which showed nothing remarkable and a pelvic probe was tried but I couldn't tolerate it and the test couldn't be done.  I was told the problem was that I am so healthy!

    Last year, I had a few random sweats and hot flushes and have persistent joint pain sometimes from the neck down followed by exhaustion after very little exertion.  I initially blamed the joint woes on a visit to a chiropractor and  masseuse.  The doctor tested for cholesterol, vitamin D deficiency and thyroid disorders but everything was negative.

    I have been very forgetful of late and had a meltdown in public which was very embarrassing for me.

    On Sunday I am going back to the doctor for the sixth time and I will be asking for a pelvic exam/ smear, an oestrogen and iron test.

    Is this the peri menopause?

      Where is pain located is it above your belly button or belly and does it make your ribs ache as well. Also does it only happen around your period time or is it constant. Do you get pain in your back at all

    I have the pain all the time but it is more intense during the period.  The ache is across my lower stomach around the belly button and above it.  It is mainly from my left side to my right. Sometimes I feel sore to touch pain on the two bones just below my rib cage.  I do have lower back pain but this was as a result of falling on black ice in 2001.  Immediately after the chiropractor, the back pain became more constant rather than having years between flare ups as I used to.  Perhaps I was mistaken blaming the chiropractor.
