Right Limb Pain

Hi All,

I am a diabetic woman in her tweinties.

I have had my right lung removed due to an infection.

I was fine and carried on wth my life after that. But after 3 to 4 yearss from the opperation I started having this pain in my right limb (both upper as well as lower). Initially it felt like normal muscle pain but the most painful part of it is nothing I did could have helped me in removing it. It would come and go on its own. Nethier pain killers nor massage helps.

In the beginning it used to happen once in two weeks and stay for 2-3 days at a go. But now the frequency has increased and I almost end up having this pain 6 days a week.

I had gone to General physician but he could not help me sadly.

Can any one please help me with their valuable sugestion. Like which specialist doctor should I see for this.

Thanks in advance to all.

Regards,

Elena

Having a lung removed may well have disturbed something as surgery often does.  It might have been better to have been given antibiotics instead rather than having major surgery.  I think you should go back to to your doctor and insist on a chest X Ray to find out what has gone wrong.  Emphasise that you are in a lot of pain and that it is seriously impacting on your life.  I think your doctor should be able to help you and should not have given up on you.  Some doctors don't like to admit to surgical complications.  If you still get nowhere, change your doctor or go private if you can.

      Hi..

The surgery was inevitable. It was pretty complex a situation.. antibiotics could not have helped.

You haven't described the pain, but you state you are diabetic. There is a condition called diabetic neuropathy that can create discomfort in the extremities, but this may not be the discomfort you feel.  Also, people with diabetes can have circulatory issues of the extremities. Not sure how a lung surgery could cause these issues 4 yrs later.
