Sarcoidosis diagnosed

Hi there, thought I would post this to thank everyone on this site who have supported me and given invaluable advice when have been so worried. Finally got results yesterday, sarcoidosis definitely confirmed in lungs, biopsies on lymph glands came back clear, am getting an appointment with a sarcoidosis specialist doctor who will be able to clarify how severe it is from the blood tests and lung function test. Hope this helps others who are waiting for either biopsies or results x

Hi Gail, sorry to here about the Sarcoid in the lungs but at least now it is diagnosed a detailed plan for treatment can be put in place!

You mention the biopsy on the lymph glands came back clear ... Clear of sarcoid? Were these lymph nodes in the lungs? If so how was the sarcoid diagnosed?

Sorry for the questions but I had my EBUS biopsy earlier this week and was under the impression that Sarcoid would only be confirmed if it was found in the lymph nodes .... I may have this completly wrong though!

(for others awaiting the EBUS, its not nearly as bad as it sounds!)

    Thanks, Guy.

Hi Guy, ooooh not sure now, that is what I was told, when had ct scan it showed slightly enlarged lymph glands in chest, I think biopsies were taken from lungs and in chest, I am waiting for appointment with specialist so will be asking lots of questions, I don't have much in the way of symptoms apart from being breathless at times, let me know when you get your results and I will post on here when seen specialist, I wish you well x
