short term use of omeprazole side effects

I took omeprazole for the first time in April along with Famotidine for acid reflux related cough. I stopped after two weeks because I felt like they were not working. After doing a barium swallow test, it indicated that I have a reflux so my doctor put me back on Omeprazole but this time it was at a higher dose. The omeprazole worked and the cough was gone. The doctor said I should take it for 2 months, but I started to get weird symptoms of anxiety, depression, and weird sensations in my body. I stopped taking it entirely after more than a week of using. Now I have nausea, anxiety/ depression, and weird muscle aches/joint pain. I also have muscle spasms that mostly happen at night which according to my mother is a family thing. My doctor refuses to believe that all of this is due to omeprazole and she sent me to do bloodwork to check thyroid and possible vitamin deficiency. All of this is starting to freak me out a little. I'm a 25 year old female, so one would think I shouldn't be experiencing this.

Has anyone felt the same? How long did the side effects stick around for? What helped with speeding up the process? What should I do?
