Taking omeprazole but it seems to cause me pain

I have been taking omeprazole for years for a hiata l hernia. About a 2 months ago I stopped taking them as I read all the bad press.After about a month I started getting reflux symptoms that got worse after my GP doubled my omeprazole and also told me to take ranitidine.I have had a gastroscopy and they found nothing wrong.I am currently taking omeprazole 20 mg once a day but still getting pain.Does it sound like the omeprazole has stopped working.I also feel dizzy and nauseos and bloated most of the time.Been taking the omeprazole again for about 4 days no relief.Feel awful no appetite.

    For me omeprazol works within hours for me. I guess this is a question you need to be asking your Dr
