Terrible reactions to all meds prescribed for GERD

Had GERD for couple years now and can't seem to get under control. Food tastes good and have great difficulty sticking diet and portion control. Anyways I've had bad reactions to all PPI's all the way down to tums, caraphate, and so on. Doctor was unsure of how to proceed because of it and is sending me elsewhere for second opinion. Bad reactions include pain in arms, legs, fingers, and headaches, and muscle weakness. Currently have burning in stomach and I'm concerned as to how it will be treated at this point. Scared of outcome. Any words of wisdom other solutions?
