Thigh pain, similar to the sensation of needing to click a joint.

Hi All, i was wondering if anyone could help me, for the last 2 weeks i have had a pain in my thigh (left). It's almost constant, sometimes its a pain that i find i actually cant describe, other times it feels like growing pains and other times it feels like that sensation you get when you feel the need to click your knee. It's getting to the point now that sometimes its so painful I'm walking with a limp, not even resting it has helped. There are NO physical changes to my thigh and i have not knocked or banged or fell etc. I'm 24 years old, I work on my feet for long hours running a bar, i previously had a spinal injury (6 years ago), compression fractures to three of my vertebra but other than that have had no other serious injuries or illnesses. I don't drink alcohol, i rarely smoke, don't touch drugs of any kind, that includes painkillers, if i don't have to take them i wont, during my recovery after my spinal injury i didn't take any painkillers. It's starting to worry me now, unfortunately i have a frankly useless doctor, I'm currently in the process of changing elsewhere. To be honest i could walk in with my head falling off and all he would do is prescribe painkillers and antibiotics and call for the next patient. I've researched online but haven't been able to find any help so if anyone knows anything the help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, do try a different GP. Ask to be referred to a specialist. Don't suffer with your pain. I'm no doctor, but, standing on your feet for long periods of time really isn't helping your situation. Could you have sciatica? Some of the symptoms you have described do fit.
