Took esomeprazole for a week, it caused acid reflux attacks

Hello

I had an appointment with a new gastroentreologist 3 weeks ago for my ibs, I mentioned to her that I had woken up a few times choking with a feeling of acid in my mouth, so she gave me esomeprazole 40mg to take before sleep. I took them for a whole week, when one night I suddenly felt like I had a burp stuck in my throat, then I ate an apple to make myself burp, and that's when I started burping uncontrollably, and had my first acid reflux attack, i didn't even know it was that, I thought I was having a heart attack or something . I called the emergencies after struggling for a few hours and told them all the medications I was taking, the doctor said it could be esomeprazole's fault, so I stopped taking it. It's been a week and a half and I still have this constant feeling of a burp stuck in my throat , even when I do let out some burps the feeling doesn't go away. I also feel that my throat is very dry. I have seen another doctor two days ago and she gave me pantaprazole 20mg and gaviscon. But now I am reading about the possible side effects of these ppi and I very worried, especially because I have some anxiety problems , and I'm still taking an anti depressant after 3 years (I had started because of ibs), I'm also anemic and I read that the ppi could make my ferritin absorption worse. Does anyone have any tips on what I should do? Should I just see another doctor and tell them I don't want
