Vaccine & Long Covid Symptoms - leg pain, dry eyes & mouth, nausea

Hi Everyone,

My wife has been struggling with a variety of symptoms ever since receiving the second Pfizer vaccine (October 2021), again after testing positive to Covid (Jan 2022), and again after being a close contact to Covid in April 2022 . Symptoms range from, but usually start in this order on a daily basis;

  • Leg pain (thigh area, like an electric shock, feels neurological)
  • Dry eyes, mouth and throat.
  • All over body aches
  • Sore head, like she's been hit across the head.
  • Nausea usually in the evenings, but has happened on occasion in the morning.
  • Also some feelings of nearly passing out.

Any kind of physical exertion usually worsens symptoms. She constantly needs to rest. Has had every blood test and heart test you can think of. Currently waiting for an appointment with an infections disease doctor. But so far no doctors can help her. She has to manage it on her own with paracetamol and rest.

Any help or ideas on what avenues we should explore would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

    has she had her hormones checked? There has been a massive increase in women experiencing hormonal upset in the wake of covid. Low oestrogen can aches and pains, headaches, fatigue, insomnia and so on. Covid has been found in ovary tissue so might be a direct cause.

    You mention 3 occasions she has experienced these symptoms but How long do symptoms last? weeks, months? There's no harm in her tracking the symptoms and severity to see if there's a pattern. Again a cyclical pattern suggests hormones regardless of what blood tests might say. A good doctor/gynaecologist would presctibe hormones anyway if symptoms are cyclical.

    After that.....an endocrinologist? I assume thyroid has been checked? Any heart palpitations, blood pressure ok?
