Hi ,
About 16 months ago I have started experiencing a pain which stated first around my chest the moved to my shoulders, back, down to the waist, legs and around 3 months ago to my both arms. The initial pain was more like a muscle pain with lots of tender points around my body and very weird burning sensation of skin especially when the skin was touched. Since the first pain occurred I have seen some many doctors and done so many blood tests and examinations including:
- blood tests for infections
- twice MRI scan of my both shoulders
- MRI of my whole body
- isotope bone scan
- X-ray of my chest
- USG of my shoulders
All results came back very good and some doctors including a rheumatologist, neurologist, an orthopedic doctor can not exactly state what cause this pain. I was prescribed different medications but nothing seemed to work. I also used some things like cold and hot patches etc.
I was recently referred to the pain clinic and went there only last week but so far after only one appointment, I need to wait now for electromyography.
My big problem at the moment is a pain that started around 3 months ago in both arms at the same time. It is very unusual pain and it differs from the pain of the rest of my body. There are no tender points but there is very dull, at times shooting pain in the same area on both arms between my elbow and shoulder. It hurts all the time but especially when I twist my hand. I can do lots of things except for twisting. The nights are the worst as laying down does not help at all. My work requires lots of hours spend on a computer.
Some of my doctors say that I probably have fibromyalgia and that I will have to wait for the right diagnose another few months but nobody can say anything about my arms and I feel like all my doctors link the pain with the pain all over my body but this pain is different. I have also been said that I should not worried too much as it's not a life threating but I don't know what to think.
I don't know who to talk and where to find more information but I feel like I have Fibromyalgia and Repetitive Starin Injury but these are only my assumptions. I can not find any forum about RSI and also any information about Fibromyalgia and pain in arms.
I really need some help.

What your describing sounds like a neurological issue (the nerves) and it could b fibromyalgia. It's a hard thing to diagnose because it mimics different health issues. I would definitely see another neurologist good luck. Check for lupus also.

But you do have the usual symptoms the dull shooting pain sounds like a nerve flair up. So don't take no for an answer you know your body they can do an eeg they're many test they can do. Fibermyalga is hard to diagnose it's a trial and error type of thing. But definitely see another neuro. Good Luck
