Hi, my doctor told me to take it at night but most people seem to take it in the morning, does it matter? does anyone else take it at night?
cheers

I was taking one 20mg Omeprazole per morning for months but as the symptoms were keeping me awake at night, the GP suggested I carry on taking 20mg on a morning and 20mg at night, which solved the problem. However, after many months on this medication and many months of eye problems, blurring and inability to focus, plus 3 eye tests, 2 pairs of specs (the second pair unnecessary as it turned out) the purchase of a halogen standard lamp and magnifying glasses, I reread the side effects and lo and behold! the medication was the cause. My GP was unaware of this side effect (can you believe the prescribers don't know the side effects!) and stopped it last week. In its place he prescribed Metoclopramide for a one week trial but after reading possible side effects of this medication (one of them, once again, eye problems) I only took one and felt so ill afterwards I took no more. My eyesight has not returned to normal but it is early days and I am ever hopeful. I am now trying to manage on Gaviscon. I have no wish to frighten you or anyone else but PLEASE, PLEASE read ALL side effects (including uncommon and rare) very carefully.
