Why do my fingertips hurt so bad?

Posted , 1 user is following.

On and off for at least a few years now, when my fingers slap something (ie: high fives, light butt spankings, bumping something moderately, etc.) my finger get a sharp pain from the distal interphalangeal joint (ocassionally as high up as the proximal joint) to the finger tips. The pain always worsens before finally subsiding, but leaves my fingers very tender to touch, even gently brushing them against something.

I have been checked for arthritis, RA, autoimmune. I did have slightly elevated inflammation markers a few times, but not enough to warrant any kind of diagnosis. Please help!
