Will diarrhea reduce effectiveness of Covid vaccine?

Hi

I have a friend with type 2 diabetes and they have just had their 2nd jab (the Oxford/AstraZenica one). It's about 12 hours since they had their jab and they have told me that they have developed diarrhea. They don't know if that is caused by the vaccine or because they drank some water which I gave them and I did not realise until afterwards that the water bottle they used all day was visibly dirty with grime.

I would like to know if diarrhea will affect their body's ability to process the vaccine. I have tried to find the answer on the internet but there are a lot of sites and none seem to cover things which could reduce the effectiveness of the vaccine.

So can anyone help me understand the issues that diarrhea will cause?

Thanks in advance,

diarrhea will not reduce the effectiveness of the vaccine. once the vaccine is given then it stays in the persons system

The vaccine can possibly cause diarrhea.

Don't think so , it is in your blood stream where the vaccine enters, not your digestive system. As your blood passes through your body your cells will take in the vaccine and use that to protect your cells from attack by covid virus cells. most new covid vaccines use inhibitors of some kind that form a protect shield around your cells to keep the virus out. Older vaccines created antibodies in your blood to protect your cells they injected dead virus cells in to your body to create those antibodies. The new vaccines work different , that's how they were created faster, the tech used was created 10 years ago, so as a new virus came along that tech was adapted to fight a new virus. My guess this might be the new way of protection used more and more to fight future viruses.
