Will my symptoms get worse?

I tested positive for Covid on a lateral flow test on saturday 31st but had no symptoms at that time. I then did a PCR test on sunday 1st August which came back positive but still had no symptoms. On Monday I started with a mild headache and nasal congestion. Tuesday same symptoms but also a slight cough. Today same symptoms, feel a little warm and sweaty too. My question is how likely are my symptoms to get worse at this point? I'm on day 5 from my first positive test, day 4 from my positive PCR test but only day 3 since my first symptoms began.

Thank you!

if you are already on day five and have these mild symptoms, youโ€™re going to be just fine. If you are young, Remember 99.9% of people your age make a full recovery. it may go on for just a little longer but soon you will start to feel better.rest up!

That's good to know! I've just been taking paracetamol for the headache and a bit of nasal spray for the congestion. Just worried that I suddenly get worse as I read that people can have mild symptoms until as late as day 10 and then suddenly go downhill. Hopefully we'll both be fighting fit this time next week! Lost my taste and smell yesterday, it's awful i love my food haha!

Thank you so much for replying ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Hello! My symptoms didn't get any worse, touch wood! Don't want to jinx myself now haha!

The congestion has cleared up, my taste and smell are returning but not fully yet. I did have a headache today but only mild and it could be because I didn't sleep very well last night!

I really hope the symptoms stay mild for you! I was drinking plenty of water and eating lots of fruit and veg. Take care!

I'm glad you didn't get worse, I hope my symptoms don't either, but I had a few more symptoms like diarrhea and lack of apetite. I' m also drinking a lot of water but not many vegetables because of my stomach. Thank you for answering

I'm on day 8, 29 years old and I had many symptoms but they were all reasonably mild... the worst days were the first 4 to 5 days (high temp, night sweats, sore throat, fatigue, thrush, back pain, etc) and after that I started seeing a lot of quick improvements. I was worried about the same thing but I think if you have a good diet, stay hydrated and rest, you'll get out of it quickly enough.

    Hi everyone

I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your day to day symptoms and allaying my anxieties about getting COVID. I had also read about day 10 potentially being a turning point for the worst but your thread has cheered me up no end. i was really ill day 1 which was very scary and have had lots of symptoms as describe by you all. However, since day 2 i have gradually been getting better and just managing pain and drinking lots of fluid/Vit C. Not much appetite still but I can eat now. I'm on day 4 now since symptoms occured and cannot believe the difference from day 1. I'm glad you all recovered without dipping on day 10 so I shall remain optimistic for the next few days! Again, thanks for sharing - your thread has been a great comfort to me. take care all ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
