A multicentre, double-blind, randomized controlled trial of inhaled amikacin versus placebo in critically ill patients with ventilator-associated tracheobronchitis (AMIVAT)

This study looks at a new way to treat lung infections in very sick patients on breathing machines. We want to see if an inhaled antibiotic, amikacin, can stop a mild infection from becoming more serious compared to a dummy treatment.
