Tretinoin and Arsenic Trioxide in Treating Patients With Untreated Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia

This study is for young people with a type of leukaemia called APL. It tests if a treatment combining two drugs, tretinoin and arsenic trioxide, can work as well as standard chemotherapy, but with fewer long-term side effects, especially for the heart.
